A Man About More Than Money
We live in a time when most athletes are all about how much they can make and what is in it for them. Ali was not like that, he felt the need to be a voice for his people and society around him. This was seen in the way that he fought for racial equality and refused to be silent about issue that mattered to him even if it cost him his championship and more money that most people would make in their lifetime.
This continued beyond his boxing career. Ali's desire to give back can be seen in the foundations he has started and the ones that he continues to support.
When looking at his charities and organizations one must realize that part of it is based on his struggle with Parkinson's Disease which resulted from repeated blows to his head during his boxing career. Yet, that has not stopped him and he continues even today to meet with others and support those organizations he is dedicated to. His dedication can be seen in the following video interview from 2007.
